This is the inevitable consequence of the criminalization of objects, as opposed to the criminalization of specific actions. It cannot be otherwise -- especially not when so-called "peace officers" have the privilege of imposing coercive detention, enforced by violence, on the grounds of "reasonable suspicion."
It's getting harder to tell the thugs from the cops anymore, and it's even been rumored the only difference is that some of the thugs carry badges as well as guns!
