Perpendicular
Sometimes, Mr. Chips has trouble making himself understood:
So I asked her if she wanted it the way it was, or if she wanted it perpendicular. By the look in her eye, I could tell she had no idea what "perpendicular" means. She's got to be mid-20s, and the really sad part is, she's probably the smartest one of the bunch. Must've gone to government schools.
Sad, isn't it? One cannot help but wonder what's being "taught" in government schools.

I could tell you exactly what "da gubmint screw-ools" are larnin' the young folks, but I try not to use that kind of language outside of my own blog posts...
Compound word comes to mind:
Starts with "bull".
You get the picture.
How sad that all they're learning is how to feel good about themselves instead of learning knowledge and skills that will lead them to the kind of success(es) that will make them feel good about themselves.
What a bunch of bigoted patronising snobs you are.
Firstly someone (Mr. Chips presumably) makes a snide comment that just because someone doesn't know the meaning of "perpendicular" they must have gone to a government school.
Then Master Doh-San and other commenters take pot-shots at "da gubmint screw-ools" as if they are deliberately undermining the ability of students to learn "knowledge and skills that will lead them to the kind of success(es) that will make them feel good about themselves".
And what an intellectual coward someone has to be to hide behind a cloak of anonymity and shout false accusations, but such happens when one has no substance to support their positions.
